A Turning Point in Higher Education

Canadian Instructors’ Response to Pandemic-Induced Remote Teaching & Learning

2020 and 2021 brought high levels of uncertainty for higher education instructors and students. COVID-19 resulted in shutting down in-person classes in most colleges and universities across the world and forced educators to shift to remote learning.

McGraw Hill Canada conducted extensive research over a period of ten months (September 2020 - June 2021) with over 300 Canadian college and university instructors to better understand the realities of pandemic-induced remote teaching and learning, and how instructors’ feelings have changed over time.

69% of instructors felt that their remote teaching experience was improved in 2021 compared to 2020
