What is ALEKS PPL?
Success in higher education starts with the correct course placement – and a student’s first math course is key to that success.
ALEKS Placement, Preparation and Learning (PPL) offers higher education institutions a comprehensive solution for math placement testing and course preparedness. By combining a highly accurate, research-based placement assessment with individualized learning resources, ALEKS PPL accurately places students in the right course and equips them with tools to refresh lost math knowledge.

With just 25 questions or less, ALEKS PPL's placement assessment can determine student knowledge across 314 topics, placing them into the correct courses from Basic Math to Calculus, including corequisites, Statistics and non-STEM courses.

Students who study for at least six hours in ALEKS PPL's learning module increase their placement level by at least one course, saving them time and money.
Accurate student placement allows institutions and instructors to retain more students and decrease D/F/W rates. Case studies and independent research from partnering institutions reinfoce ALEKS PPL's mission to help prepare students for success in math and beyond.
