McGraw Hill + OLC Partnership

McGraw Hill & Online Learning Consortium

We know you need more than just digital content. You need high-quality, pedagogically sound digital content that is instructionally designed for student success.

About Our Partnership

The Online Learning Consortium (OLC) is a higher education community dedicated to advancing quality digital teaching and learning experiences. McGraw Hill has partnered with the OLC to create a Quality in Online Learning Certification for our Digital Faculty Consultants (DFCs) and implementation team. This certification teaches our DFCs and McGraw Hill Digital Success Consultants research-backed best practices on how to build, facilitate and assess online courses.

OLC-Aligned Courses

In consultation with the OLC, our certified Digital Faculty Consultants and implementation team have created OLC-aligned Connect courses for select disciplines to get your high-quality and engaging course up and running quickly. These courses are built using the OLC's quality scorecard to align our Connect online resources with online course development best practices. Find out how you can access an OLC-Aligned course.

What is an OLC-Aligned Course?

Our OLC-aligned courses are preconfigured and checked against the OLC scorecard to ensure they follow best practices in relation to:

  • Course technology and tools
  • Design and layout
  • Student engagement
  • Accessibility
  • Course learning outcomes
  • And more

Benefits of OLC-Aligned Courses

  • Pre-configured courseware aligned to online course development best practices
  • On-demand toolkits and how-to videos to help make your course preparation easier
  • Quick-start guides and syllabus guides to get your course up and running quickly
  • Access to virtual coaching from OLC certified, Connect trained peers

“This partnership just reaffirms McGraw Hill's dedication to excellence in education, for students and instructors. I had never given (or taken) an online course before Covid-19, and participating in the certification allowed me to experience what quality online education looks and feels like from a student perspective. Being mindful of that experience when designing & delivering my course turned out to be a great benchmark for excellence, and just one benefit of the OLC & McGraw Hill partnership.”

- Melanie Doyle, Instructor, Dawson College
