Writing to Read, Reading to Write presents reading, writing, and critical thinking as complementary endeavors that form the foundation of students' academic success. Reading and writing are presented as recursive processes, and each chapter builds on these skills to help students at all levels achieve college-level writing success. Scaffolding and support for each skill is embedded in every chapter in the form of student-centered guided practice as well as explicit instruction around strategies.
